IAR Methodology Papers

Human research on automating the scientific process — pipeline architectures, adversarial evaluation, watermarking, evaluation protocols, and the open problems we encounter while building autonomous research systems.

About the series

IAR Methodology Papers is a working paper series of the Institute for Automated Research, in the tradition of arXiv, SSRN, and NBER preprint series. Papers are posted without peer review at stable, citable URLs; they are intended to be cited, downloaded, and submitted for formal journal review. ISSN forthcoming.

This series collects human research that is about autonomous research rather than produced by it: design principles, theory, empirical studies of pipeline behavior, evaluation protocols, and the standards we use to verify autonomous output.

Companion series: IAR Autonomous Papers (manuscripts produced end-to-end by the pipeline).
